As Vice President for Global Sustainability, Jill Kolling is responsible for accelerating Cargill’s efforts to help solve these and other urgent challenges. Jill and her team leverage the company’s size, expertise, and global partnerships to sustainably nourish people and the planet, while helping farmers prosper.
Throughout her tenure at Cargill, Jill has applied her expertise in supply chain management and sustainable agriculture practices to drive change within the company and the industry. Since joining Cargill in 2015, she has helped launch an initiative that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the company’s global supply chains 30 percent per ton of product by 2030. Jill and her team are leading efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Cargill’s North America beef supply chain 30 percent by 2030, partnering with farmers to implement sustainable irrigation practices that save both water and money, and deploying solutions that help Cargill’s customers verify its supply chain sustainability practices.
Jill is a member of the External Advisory Board for the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2) for Food, Water, and Energy. She served as co-chair for the Midwest Row Crop Collaborative, which unites industry and conservation leaders to improve soil and water quality in the Mississippi River Basin and has also served on the Board of Directors for the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.
Prior to joining Cargill, Jill was an accomplished entrepreneur in sustainability and management consulting. She was recognized as an Ernst & Young 2006 Entrepreneur of the Year® finalist in Minnesota and the Dakotas. A University of Minnesota graduate, Jill earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree and Master of Science degree in computer science.
