Mohammed Al-Shawaf is a manager for SustainAbility based in the San Francisco Bay Area, working with clients in the automotive, energy, technology and food and beverage sectors. He has a particular interest in cities and urban development and co-authored a 2012 research report entitled Citystates: How Cities Are Vital to the Future of Sustainability. Mohammed also manages the GlobeScan/SustainAbility Survey Program, a joint research initiative polling experts on the state of sustainability and its emerging trends. Prior to SustainAbility, Al-Shawaf's experience at the intersection of business value and social impact was as a program manager for the Center for Responsible Business at UC Berkeley and as a Kiva (Microfinance) Fellow in Palestine.
