Sepion Technologies
Following a lifelong passion to power cars with solar energy, Petehas devoted the past 15 years to advanced materials development for breakthrough energy storage technologies. His background in self-assembly and synthetic chemistry provides a unique vantage point to tackle long-standing battery problems with innovative materials. Sepion is commercializing must-have membrane components that boost the energy density, safety, and lifetime of Li-batteries while integrating with existing manufacturing infrastructure. He co-founded Sepion Technologies, along with Brett Helms, in 2015 to commercialize technology they invented at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Previously, Pete was an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Würzburg in Germany, and he holds a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of British Columbia and a B.Sc. in chemistry from Idaho State University.
