Scott Weislow is the senior director of Environmental Services for Best Buy Co., Inc.
Scott Weislow is the senior director of Environmental Services for Best Buy Co., Inc. In this capacity, Weislow oversees the company’s industry leading recycling and waste management efforts, which include the collection and recycling of consumer electronics, appliances, ancillary products such as rechargeable batteries, as well as packaging waste including cardboard, plastic wrap, and Styrofoam. Weislow and his team are committed to continuous process improvement and to drive innovation within the recycling program such that Best Buy remains a leader in the responsible recycling of electronic waste.
Prior to joining Best Buy in January 2012, Weislow spent 21 years as an environmental and regulatory compliance professional working in a variety of positions within the environmental consulting field, the construction and waste management industry, and most recently the power equipment manufacturing industry. During that timeframe, Weislow held numerous global and local leadership roles in the areas of product regulatory compliance, environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, waste management, product liability and safety, and business management. Weislow developed, implemented and managed a global product regulatory compliance program for the Toro Company, ensuring that all products met legal requirements in the global markets the manufacturer served. Weislow previously served on various boards and committees with the National Association of Manufacturers, the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, the European Garden Machinery Federation, and currently works with the Consumer Electronics Association and other industry related organizations.
Weislow is active throughout the industry and community with his involvement in various organizations, such as the American Diabetes Association, in which he previously served on the Minnesota chapter’s board of directors.
Weislow received his BS in Geology from the University of Minnesota.
