100 percent clean energy is a team sport

Hawaii is leading the U.S. in becoming the first state to legally mandate using 100 percent renewable energy in the electric sector by 2045.

Like any great goal, it will take team thinking and consideration of customer's changing needs.

"The old days of communicating with our customer, when we were truly monopolies, are gone," said Hawaiian Electric CEO Alan Oshima. He talks about the importance of community engagement, innovating along with the technology sector, and public-private partnerships as important parts of integrating renewable energy into the state's long-term economic development plan.
