Anthesis' Jessica Onyshko on how companies can embed sustainable chemistry into their practices

March 2, 2020

Jessica Onyshko, principal consultant at Anthesis, says embedding sustainable chemistry into company practices depends on a number of factors because the discipline is so broad.

Right now most companies are trying to figure out how to embed these practices into their products and supply chain that cover the product's entire lifecycle, according to Onyshko.

When companies try to embed at the raw materials phase, Onyshko says they're asking: "Is this material or chemical bio-based? How does this contribute to the circular economy? Is this part of a regenerative economy? Is this chemical even safe?"

Ingredient transparency is one way we can see companies sharing how they're embedding these practices.
