CDP looks beyond carbon and water

A veteran of manufacturing, CDP's Nigel Topping knows how to get investors to hold companies accountable and get companies to report their use of resources.

"We can sometimes help trigger looking deeper, because when somebody gets a letter signed by hundreds of investors, it's kind of hard to say, 'We’re not interested.'" What we often find is the first response is, 'Geez, not something else to do,' but after they start going through the process of researching and disclosing, there's a lot of learning, which then leads to action within the organization and within their supply chain."
