Powering communities is about much more than providing solar-fueled electricity to homes. It's about economic empowerment and using civic engagement to help all of our communities rise up together. To achieve that, the U.S. needs to take affordable renewable energy power from the margins to the mainstream.
"It's not about technology adoption curves or mainstream market solutions, but the good that can come by putting all people who are marginalized or treated as an afterthought at the center of systems and solutions," said Michelle Moore, CEO of Groundswell.
She led a panel of community leaders from around the U.S. to share solutions promoting balanced growth and shared prosperity for low-wealth people and communities of color across energy, transportation, land-use and economic inclusion.
