Less than a year into his role as vice president of NRG Energy, Bruno Sarda is helping the largest independent power producer in the country transition to sustainable sources of energy.
"Part of the evolution to a sustainable energy future is to be at the leading edge of the transition to new technologies," he said. "We may not invent the next solar cell, but what we're really good at is bringing proven technology to scale in a commercially economical way."
NRG also has a retail line of business, which allows customers to buy entirely renewable energy from NRG, as well as a distributed energy solutions business.
Despite the current political climate, Sarda said, there are reasons for optimism: Innovation and good business sense makes the case for accelerating sustainable business.
