Sri Mariati of the Belantara Foundation on conservation in Indonesia

March 12, 2019

Conservation and preservation take on a special meaning in Indonesia, a country rich with natural resources, from palm oil to paper to rubber to coffee. Countless products around the world have supply chains that touch Indonesian resources — and, oftentimes, that means excessive deforestation and depletion of the land and forests there. Sri Mariati, with the Belantara Foundation, is working to conserve these resources that are crucial to fighting climate change and make sure that the private sector can work sustainably in sourcing.
