In this Studio C interview at VERGE 2014 in San Francisco, GreenBiz's Shana Rappaport asks Rainforest Alliance president Tensie Whelan about what the Alliance is doing, and what Whelan found at VERGE.
"Our whole vision is about transforming market systems to stimulate positive change and redesign," Whelan said about Rainforest Alliance.
Whelan was quick to say that the amount of data and digital tools were unprecedented in conservation efforts. Whether it's using Google Earth's data layers to visualize changes in water and forest, or talking to Microsoft about the potential for creating a digital platform for farmers, Whelan seemed to be getting a lot from the conference.
"What keeps me motivated and excited is to see the change in people from the work that we're doing," she said.
