The company wants to eliminate plastics at one of the major sources — food retailers. Changing packaging is no easy feat, but technology makes innovation easier — and the company has already expanded across the U.S. and Europe. There's a major market for solutions to plastic waste, but a challenge is "manufacturing capacity" right now given the major demand.
"The reality is we don't have to tell people plastic is bad," he said. "They understand that. And are customers are looking for solutions."
