Two state commissioners share cross-party sustainability lessons

October 27, 2017

When it comes to sustainable power, opposite perspectives attract.

Tim Echols, commissioner at Georgia Public Service Commission, and Michael Picker, president of the California Public Utilities Commission, discuss what they learned as both the red and the blue state transition to clean energy.

They first met when visiting Germany to learn how the country stayed its course on renewable energy even after transitioning away from nuclear power, and now share their knowledge about how states must act to fully decarbonize when faced with national and local challenges.
