Volker Sick, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Mechanical Engineering and DTE Energy Professor of Advanced Energy Research, is the Director of the Global CO2 Initiative and Faculty Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan College of Engineering. His research focuses on accelerating deployments of CO2-utilization technologies, his teaching is built on engaged learning in lab courses, company-in-residence programs, and an international summer school. He received his Doctorate in Chemistry and Habilitation in Physical Chemistry from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He joined the University of Michigan as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering in 1997.
