As the IPCC states, there is no path to 1.5 ℃ that doesn’t include restoring the world’s forests. Forests not only sequester carbon but also provide critical ecosystem services, host much of the world’s biodiversity, and provide employment to 25% of the global population. Despite these benefits, forest carbon faces a financing gap that hinders the development of high-quality projects.
