Just about everyone knows we need to fix recycling, which has plateaued or decreased at the same time that public concern over plastic and other waste has grown. At the same time, there’s growing momentum toward circular packaging and products. But whose job is it to fix recycling? With governments largely on the sidelines, society is turning to the private sector to reinvigorate or reinvent consumer recycling.
