Will Thorburn

Will Thorburn is a Director of Cleantech Strategy and Investments at Cox Enterprises, a private, family-owned company based in Atlanta, Georgia, with $21 billion in annual revenues and more than 55,000 employees. In his role, he identifies and executes investments, strategic partnerships and new business opportunities for Cox in the cleantech industry.

Previously, Will held various corporate strategy roles at Cox Communications. Prior to joining Cox in 2011, he was a member of the mergers and acquisitions team at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey.

Will focuses on developing the company’s investments in the energy sector. Recently, he led a $20 million investment in Carbon Lighthouse, a digital energy services company. Since 2007, Cox Enterprises has invested more than $350 million in sustainable businesses and technologies.

Will is a Board Director for Sierra Energy and Nexus Fuels, and is a member of the University of Georgia’s Visitor’s Board.

He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.
